There is need of processing in form of shredding the biomass onsite before transportation to increase its density when procurement is done from more than a particular distance. While transportation in any kind or form from more than 50 Km becomes unviable for a power plant of size 10-15MW. European power plants are importing their biomass in form of pellets from other countries to meet the requirement of the huge biopower plants. [&#8230;]]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[Hi. Thanks for starting the discussion. One major concern in the supply of biomass for boiler fuel is the seasonality on the availability of feedstock. During dry months, more can be gathered and stacked. Are there guides as to the size of roofed storage? Moisture contents are high during rainy season. Are there dewatering facilities or the provision of dryers? Finally, using biomass boilers with limitation on particle size of feeding the boiler, what preparation  equipment are commonly needed? Were the limits of silica and other salts already considered and solved in feeding biomass fuels such as wastes (i.e cane trash, rice hulls, etc.)
